TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Cabangbungin Sector Police, Bekasi Regency, have arrested a student with the initials EFK, 18 years old, for growing marijuana at his home in Sumberjaya Village, Tambun Selatan Sub-district, Bekasi Regency.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Cabangbungin Police, Ipda Rolin Manulang, said the case was uncovered based on public reports.
"During the search at the perpetrator's residence, the police found six pots containing plants strongly suspected to be marijuana," said Rolin on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Furthermore, the police also confiscated other evidence such as one ultraviolet lamp used to support the plant growth process, one mobile phone, and one small fan. According to the perpetrator's statement, the marijuana seeds were obtained from the previous purchase of marijuana narcotics.
"From the initial interrogation, the suspect admitted to growing the marijuana for the past two months," he added.
The suspect was then taken to the Cabangbungin Police Station along with the evidence for further investigation.
The police expressed appreciation to the public for actively reporting drug abuse activities, emphasizing that the public's active role greatly assists the police in maintaining security and order.
