Inside the Arrest of Sritex Boss by Attorney General's Office

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) arrested the President Commissioner of Sritex, Iwan Setiawan Lukminto, in Solo on Tuesday night, May 20, 2025. AGO investigator took Iwan to the AGO Office in South Jakarta to be questioned as a witness.

The Head of AGO's Legal Information Center, Harli Siregar, said the arrest was made because Iwan Setiawan Lukminto's communication device was detected in several locations. Consequently, the investigators decided to make the arrest. Harli stated that the arrest was not conducted by force.

"We summoned the person, searched for him, and then secured him. It was not by force because, after securing him, we took him," said Harli at the Kejagung Office on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Harli stated that the investigators must take precautions to prevent Iwan from fleeing. Iwan was questioned at AGO starting at 08.00 AM local time.

Furthermore, Harli could not confirm whether Iwan was questioned for his role as the President Director of Sritex or after becoming the president commissioner. "The investigator will later convey that," he said.

The Sritex CEO was questioned regarding alleged corruption in granting loans from several banks. "Based on what we've seen, the value is around Rp3.6 trillion. This information comes from several banks," he said.

In this case of alleged corruption in granting loans from several banks to Sritex, the AGO investigators have not named any suspects. "That's what is being sought. That's why various parties have been asked to testify and help determine if any unlawful acts or state losses occurred," said Harli Siregar on May 14, 2025.

In this case, several banks provided loans to Sritex, such as PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten (BJB), PT Bank DKI, and Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Tengah. AGO has been investigating this case since 2024, referring to the instructions for investigation number Print-62/F/.2/Fd/2/10/2024.

Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) also issued a second investigation letter on March 20, 2025. This is stated in the testimony summons document in the name of Yefta Bagus Setiawan, the Accounting Manager at PT Senang Kharisma Textile (Sritex Group). AGO has also conducted examinations of several regional banks that disbursed the loans.

The reason prosecutors are investigating this case is that the lenders are government-owned banks. The prosecutors are currently examining whether the loans were granted when Sritex's financial condition was sound or the opposite.
