World Leaders Extend Eid Greetings to Muslims Around the Globe

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah becomes a moment of happiness for Muslims worldwide. World leaders congratulate their people and the global Muslim community, emphasizing the importance of the virtues taught during the holy month of Ramadan.

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, conveyed his congratulations through a video released on Sunday, March 30, 2025. In his message, Prabowo urged the public to make Eid al-Fitr a moment to strengthen national unity and enhance social solidarity.

"Eid al-Fitr is a sacred moment to forgive each other, strengthen kinship, and reaffirm our commitment as individuals to become better, more patient, and more caring towards others," he said.

Prabowo emphasized the significance of Eid al-Fitr as a moment of victory after fasting the month-long Ramadan. He also interpreted this year's Eid al-Fitr as an opportunity for Muslims to strengthen kinship and reinforce virtuous values.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed similar wishes on Monday, March 31, 2025. In his message, he emphasized the importance of brotherhood and empathy taught by Eid al-Fitr.

Sharif reminded his people to remain united in facing internal and external challenges and to share happiness with the less fortunate. He also called for support for the oppressed communities in Kashmir and Palestine. He said Eid al-Fitr teaches people about happiness, gratitude, brotherhood, and empathy.

Meanwhile, Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took a different approach by calling several world leaders to convey his Eid al-Fitr congratulations directly. One of those who received the call was President Prabowo Subianto.

In the telephone conversation, they also discussed the bilateral relations between Turkey and Indonesia. Besides discussing regional and global issues, he expressed satisfaction with the development of the two countries' relationship.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia also conveyed Eid al-Fitr greetings to all Muslims worldwide. He expressed gratitude to Allah for the various blessings bestowed upon the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As quoted from the Saudigazette page, Saudi Arabia allows millions of pilgrims to perform Umrah and visit holy places during Ramadan.
