TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Grok can now answer questions by looking at what is visible through your phone's camera. This latest capability of the xAI chatbot model is similar to the real-time vision feature already present in Gemini, Google's artificial intelligence, or ChatGPT.
Grok Vision was announced on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. With it, you can point your phone at any object, be it an item, picture, or document and ask questions about it.
That's not all. Other updates to Grok include the addition of multilingual voice chat support and real-time voice search.
For now, these updates are exclusive to iOS devices, an unsurprising move considering Elon Musk first launched Grok on iPhones before expanding it to Android phones.
However, Android users are given the option to get access to these features as well, but only if they subscribe to SuperGrok for US$30 per month.
Phone Arena writes that real-time vision is rapidly growing as a standard feature in AI landscape, bringing it to a whole new level where systems deviate from merely responding to commands or spitting out content.
Instead, they can actively sense their environment, set their own goals, plan their actions, and make decisions with minimal human direction.
Moving in this advanced direction, xAI has been rolling out new features at rapid pace, including Grok’s tool for creating documents and apps. Elon Musk's company also added a memory feature so that the chatbot can remember details from previous chats.
