Napoli Wins Championship; Scott McTominay Named Serie A's Top Player

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Napoli's midfielder, Scott McTominay, has been named the Best Player of the Serie A 2024/2025 season. This honor comes after he helped his team win the league championship. Serie A made this announcement on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Scott McTominay scored a goal with an acrobatic kick as Napoli defeated Cagliari 2-0 in their final match on the morning of Saturday, May 24, 2025. This victory secured Napoli's championship title.

Throughout the season, the Scottish midfielder played in 34 matches for Napoli. He scored 12 goals and provided six assists in a total of 2,941 minutes of play in the Serie A league.

Serie A also announced the best players in other categories on their official English Twitter account, @SerieA_EN. Atalanta's forward, Mateo Retegui, was named Best Forward. He earned this award, along with the "Capocannoniere" title for scoring the most goals in the competition. He successfully netted 25 goals in 35 appearances for Atalanta.

AC Milan's Tijjani Reijnders was selected as the Best Midfielder. He played in 36 matches, contributing 10 goals and four assists for AC Milan.

Inter Milan's Alessandro Bastoni received the title of Best Defender. He appeared in 33 matches, scoring one goal and providing five assists in 2,421 minutes of play. His efforts helped Inter Milan secure second place in the league standings.

The award for Best Goalkeeper in Serie A went to AS Roma's goalkeeper, Mile Svilar. He played in 37 matches and kept a clean sheet 15 times.

Furthermore, the title of Best Young Player in Serie A was given to Como's midfielder, Nico Paz. He played in 35 matches this season, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in a total of 2,695 minutes of play.
