Olivia Dean Moves Auckland Show to Newly Revamped Western Springs Bowl

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – British singer Olivia Dean has moved her October 17 Auckland concert from Spark Arena to the newly redeveloped Western Springs Bowl following what organizers described as "phenomenal demand" for tickets.

The show will mark the first music event at the Auckland venue following a four-month, NZ$2.5 million transformation designed to turn the historic Western Springs site into a major outdoor destination for concerts and festivals.

The redevelopment was funded through the existing capital budget of venue owner and operator Ttaki Auckland Unlimited, with no additional cost to Auckland ratepayers.

The revamped Western Springs Bowl will be able to accommodate between 15,000 and 30,000 people for major concerts and festivals during the summer season. It will also operate as a smaller sporting venue with capacity for up to 5,000 spectators.

"This venue will be part of keeping Auckland 'always on' by creating opportunities for more regular high-profile outdoor events, while ensuring Aucklanders can continue to enjoy this important regional asset," Ttaki Auckland Unlimited Chief Executive Nick Hill told 1News.

The venue's first event following the redevelopment was an NPC rugby match between Wellington and Auckland.

Ticket Details for Olivia Dean's Auckland Show

Fans who already hold tickets for Dean's original Spark Arena concert do not need to purchase new tickets. Existing tickets will be reissued to Ticketek NZ accounts by September 30.

Ticket holders without a Ticketek NZ account have until August 31 to create one.

Additional tickets for the upgraded Auckland show will go on sale to the general public on August 20.

According to Rolling Stone, Dean will be supported by Australian singer Kaiit throughout her 2026 Australia and New Zealand tour. The tour also includes sold-out shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Dean said she was looking forward to returning to the region.

"I'm so excited to return to Australia & New Zealand! Thank you so much for all your support over the last few years, I can't wait to celebrate with you soon!" she said.

Olivia Dean's Growing Success in New Zealand

The Auckland venue upgrade comes as Dean continues to enjoy strong commercial success in New Zealand.

She has spent 21 weeks simultaneously at No. 1 on the country's official singles and albums charts, the longest such run in New Zealand chart history.

Her hit single "Man I Need" has spent 31 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 and has been certified six-times platinum in New Zealand. Her album The Art of Loving has also spent 23 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the album chart and is four-times platinum.

"The Hardest Part" also found an early audience in New Zealand, where it became the first market to certify the song Gold before eventually reaching three-times platinum.

Known for blending soul, pop and classic singer-songwriter influences with personal, diary-like songwriting, Dean has emerged as one of the UK's prominent contemporary pop artists.

Her Auckland concert is now set to become the first major music show at the transformed Western Springs Bowl, giving the venue a high-profile launch as Auckland expands its outdoor live music offering.
