Prabowo Attends UKRI Inauguration and Graduation Ceremony in Bandung

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto attended the University of Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia (UKRI) senate session for the inauguration of new students and the graduation of undergraduates at the Trans Convention Center in Bandung, West Java, on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

As broadcast on UKRI TV’s YouTube channel, Prabowo, dressed in a dark gray suit and black peci, arrived at the venue at around 10:50 AM local time.

Upon entering the hall, he was accompanied by several officials, including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, who also serves as UKRI’s Rector, Head of the Government Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian.

The ceremony began with the singing of the UKRI March and Indonesia Raya, followed by a moment of silence led by the President.

“Let us take a moment to honor the services of our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the independence, sovereignty, and dignity of our nation,” Prabowo said.

The President is scheduled to deliver a keynote address during the session.

Prabowo currently serves as the Chair of the UKRI Foundation. According to the university’s official website, UKRI was established based on the vision of the Soemitro Djojohadikusumo family, which aspires to contribute to the creation of a better Indonesia.

The university now operates six faculties encompassing various fields of study.
