CANTIKA.COM, Jakarta - The Met Gala 2025 dazzled with celebrity glamour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, featuring global icons including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. However, fans couldn’t help but notice the absence of one major name: Taylor Swift.
Her absence at the event with her partner, Travis Kelce, raised public questions about the reason for the world-famous pop star's absence from Met Gala 2025.
"They have been traveling nonstop and very much enjoy it," a source told People about the reason Taylor Swift and her partner were not present at the Met Gala. The source also mentioned that they are currently enjoying their vacation.
"They’re making the most of their time off together, hanging out with friends too. It’s a special time for them," the source added.
The singer has had a demanding schedule with her Eras Tour, while Kelce was tied up with the NFL season. Following a packed few months, they reportedly opted to focus on personal time and avoid high-profile events.
This is not the first time Swift has skipped the Met Gala; she was also absent in 2024. Her debut at the event was in 2008, wearing a sparkling gold gown by Badgley Mischka. In 2010, she graced the red carpet in a flowing white Ralph Lauren dress.
Swift has consistently turned heads at the Met Gala. From her elegant look during the 2011 Savage Beauty theme to the soft pink Oscar de la Renta gown in 2014, and the edgy metallic Louis Vuitton mini dress in 2016 during her Reputation era, each appearance has made headlines.
Although she missed this year’s ball, fans still hope to see her return to the Met Gala stage in the near future, possibly alongside Kelce.
