TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Telkom Indonesia, a state-owned telecommunications company, is facing scrutiny following an investigation by the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office into alleged corruption involving fictitious financing amounting to Rp431 billion.

Nine individuals have been identified as suspects, including three officials from PT Telkom Indonesia and its subsidiary companies, along with six suspects from private entities.

Ahmad Reza, Senior Vice President of Group Sustainability & Corporate Communication at PT Telkom Indonesia, clarified that the case originated from an internal audit conducted by Telkom, which was subsequently handed over to the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crime (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office.

"The company's legal team confirmed that the audit findings were submitted to the prosecutor's office," he said in an official communication to Tempo on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Reza further explained that the case was initially under the authority of the Attorney General's Office before being transferred to the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office. He emphasized that this action is part of the company's ongoing efforts to enhance its corporate governance practices.

Four subsidiaries of Telkom Indonesia are currently under investigation by the prosecutors: PT Infomedia, PT Telkominfra, PT Pins, and PT Graha Sarana Duta.

According to Reza, the investigation pertains to activities within one of Telkom's divisions between 2016 and 2018. "Regarding the investigation into Telkom Group's involvement, we are all awaiting the ongoing process at the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office," he stated.

Syahron Hasibuan, Head of the Public Information Section at the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office, explained that the case involves a fictitious collaboration between PT Telkom Indonesia and its four subsidiaries, along with nine private companies.

This alleged collaboration involved the procurement of goods that were never actually supplied but were falsely documented to facilitate the disbursement of funds from PT Telkom Indonesia. The investigation has identified a total of nine fictitious projects involving different companies, with individual project values ranging from Rp64.4 billion to Rp114.9 billion.
