TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Canada had to settle for a 1-1 draw against the Bosnia-Herzegovina national team in the 2026 World Cup Group B match at BMO Field Stadium, Toronto, Friday local time.
As reported by ANTARA, in this match, Bosnia-Herzegovina took the lead through Jovo Lukic, but Canada escaped defeat thanks to Cyle Larin, according to FIFA records.
The draw leaves Canada in first place with one point from one game, followed by Bosnia-Herzegovina in second place.
Canada will next face Qatar in the second match of Group B of the 2026 World Cup, Thursday (18/6) local time, while Bosnia-Herzegovina will meet Switzerland on the same day.
Canada took the initiative and attacked first in this match. However, Bosnian goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj still saved Jonathan David's shot.
Bosnia took the lead in the 21st minute after Sead Kolasinac's cross was converted into a goal by Jovo Lukic's header, making the score 1-0.
During the remainder of the first half, Canada continued trying to score the equalizer, but the score remained 1-0 in favor of Bosnia at halftime.
Entering the second half, Canada played an attacking game again and created a chance with Richard Laryea's shot. However, the shot failed to penetrate the Bosnian goal.
After several attempts, Canada finally broke through Bosnia's defense when Cyle Larin scored off a pass from Promise David, tying the game 1-1 in the 78th minute.
During the remainder of the match, both Canada and Bosnia tried to score the winning goal. However, the match ended with the score tied at 1-1.
