TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has assured that supplies of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), both subsidized and non-subsidized, remain secure despite recent price increases for 12-kilogram cylinders.
Bahlil said current stocks of non-subsidized LPG are above the national minimum threshold, ensuring adequate supply across the country.
He also confirmed that there will be no price increase for 3-kilogram subsidized LPG.
“For subsidized LPG, our stock is above the national minimum standard, and there is no price increase,” he said during a press conference at the Energy Ministry on Monday, April 20, 2026.
For non-subsidized LPG, Bahlil explained that price adjustments are influenced by global energy price movements. However, he noted that prices could decline again if global trends ease.
He dismissed concerns over potential shortages, stating that Indonesia’s LPG reserves currently exceed 10 days of supply, above the required national minimum level.
Earlier, Pertamina Patra Niaga raised the price of 12-kg non-subsidized LPG from Rp192,000 to Rp228,000 per cylinder, an increase of about 18.75 percent. The adjustment, which took effect on April 18, 2026, marks the first price hike since 2023.
Prices for 5.5-kg non-subsidized LPG also increased, from Rp90,000 to Rp107,000 per cylinder, or about 18.89 percent. The new prices apply in several regions, including Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara, with variations in other areas depending on distribution costs.
