TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The arrests of former Bima City Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik Putra Kuncoro and former Narcotics Unit Chief Adj. Comr. Malaungi exposed the drug trafficking in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara. The two allegedly received regular payments from two drug traffickers: Erwin, also known as Koko Erwin, and Boy.
Director of Narcotics Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Department, Brig. Gen. Eko Hadi Santoso, said his office did not expect drug trafficking in Bima to be so extensive. One indication, he noted, was the scale of payments made by traffickers, which amounted to billions of rupiah. The following are excerpts from Eko Hadi’s interview with Tempo reporters Intan Setiawanty, Febriyan, and Hammam Izzudin in his office on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
What roles did Didik Putra and Malaungi play in this case?
Their roles were to provide assistance and turn a blind eye. When there is willful neglect of trafficking operations, that already makes someone part of the network. Even turning a blind eye places you within the narcotics network.
