TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of State Secretariat has closed registration for invitations to Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day Commemoration Ceremony and is preparing a People's Festival and Independence Carnival as open activities for the public.
"Thank you very much for the extraordinary and continuous enthusiasm of all Indonesian people until the last day of registration for invitations to the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia Ceremony," said the ministry on its official social media account on Sunday, as quoted by ANTARA.
The Ministry of State Secretariat has asked the public who have successfully received an invitation to follow the next stages as conveyed by the committee via email.
"Please follow the next steps sent by the committee via email and continue to monitor uploads and the latest official information only on the Ministry of State Secretariat's social media accounts," wrote the Ministry of State Secretariat.
For people who did not receive an invitation to the ceremony, the government has prepared several open activities to enliven the Independence Day commemoration in Jakarta. These activities include the People's Festival in the National Monument (Monas) area as well as the Independence Carnival which will pass along the Monas-Sarinah-HI Roundabout route.
"The government will hold a People's Festival at the National Monument (Monas) and an Independence Carnival along the Monas-Sarinah-HI Roundabout route in Jakarta, which will be open to the entire public," said the Ministry of State Secretariat.
The government previously recorded that 128,331 people participated in the registration process for invitations to the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony on Wednesday, August 5, the first day of registration.
The Ministry of State Secretariat has not detailed the total number of applicants until registration closes. The government invites the public to participate in a series of open activities as part of the commemoration of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day.
