Indonesian Tourist Arrivals in Australia Expected to Up 20% in 2025

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The COO of Dwidayatour, Hendri Yapto, said Australia has become one of the top destinations for Indonesian tourists, which Hendri claimed can be seen from several Dwidayatour Carnivals this year. The events have been conducted in Samarinda, Jayapura, and Jakarta. 

"We highly appreciate the extraordinary enthusiasm, as reflected in the number of visitors reaching up to 15,000 in one city," said Hendri in a press release received by Tempo on April 24, 2025.

Among the various destinations offered, Australia apparently has become one of the favorites for Indonesian tourists. "Many of them are interested in visiting iconic cities such as Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth, and other interesting destinations in the Land Down Under," he added.

Australia has become a highly sought-after destination for Indonesians this year, while in 2024, over 220,000 Indonesian tourists entered the country. "This figure is equivalent to the pre-pandemic numbers and is expected to rise by 10-20 percent in 2025," said Hendri.

Apart from offering a unique combination of natural beauty, rich culture, and advanced tourism infrastructure, another factor that makes Australia attractive is the various international sports events, such as the Gold Coast Marathon and Sydney Marathon, which draw Indonesians seeking sport tourism.

Hendri explained that during the first quarter of this year, Dwidayatour successfully boosted Australian destination travel product sales by 29 percent compared to the same period last year. This April, there will be the 2025 Dwidayatour Carnival at Gandaria City, Jakarta, and Mall Centre Point, Medan, from April 24 to 27, 2025. "During this period, visitors can enjoy various special promos such as a 50 percent discount on Australia tour packages," he said.

"We invite you, the travelers, to come and enjoy the typical Australian atmosphere through installations like Vivid Sydney, Interactive Cube West Australia, and AI-based Photobooth-as if you are already in the Land Down Under," he said.

Hendri added that the promos and discounts offered are not limited to just Australian destinations, but also include various favorite destinations around the world. "The biggest offer is given for Australian tour packages, with discounts of up to 50 percent," said Hendri.

In addition to tour packages, the agency also offered discounted hotel prices, as well as attractive promos for Royal Caribbean International cruise tickets suitable for couples or families. There are also attractive offers from cruise ships favored by travelers, such as the Disney Adventure departing from the port in Singapore.
