Iran Claims Capture of Two Mossad Agents Carrying Explosives and Drones

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two Mossad intelligence agents, along with a quantity of explosives and drones, were captured by the Iranian police near the capital, Tehran, on Sunday.

"During two separate operations, two Mossad agents were detained by law enforcement in the Rey district. More than 200 kilograms of explosives, 23 drones, a launcher, and control equipment were found and seized from them," said police spokesman Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi to Fars news agency, as reported by Antara and Anadolu.

Earlier, the ISNA news agency reported the arrest of two Mossad agents in the Alborz province, north of Tehran. It was stated that the two agents were involved in the production of bombs and explosive materials.

Subsequently, Nour News reported on June 14 that several vehicles carrying Israeli drones were confiscated in Iran.

A day later, an explosive device was defused by authorities in the southern outskirts of Tehran.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Sunday that they were ready to stop attacks on Israel if Tel Aviv also ceased its strikes on Tehran.

Speaking before foreign ambassadors in Tehran, Araghchi emphasized that this war was "imposed" on Iran and Tehran had no choice but to respond.

"Our defense is fully legitimate and will be carried out with strength, solely in response to aggression," he said, as quoted by the Turkish news agency Anadolu.

"If the attacks cease, Iran’s retaliatory actions will also end," the Iranian Foreign Minister asserted.

Israeli authorities stated that at least 13 people were killed and over 370 others injured in missile strikes from Iran since Friday.

Iran, on the other hand, claimed that 78 people died on the first day of Israel's attacks, and many, including children, were killed on the second day.
