Jakarta Palace to Host Eid al-Fitr Open House for 5,000 Guests

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Presidential Palace in Jakarta will host an open house on Saturday, March 21, 2026, starting at 12:00 p.m. This celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri is officially open to the general public.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the government is organizing the halal bihalal event as a gathering for citizens wishing to visit the Palace. Teddy explained that the open house is scheduled to run from noon until evening, with an expected capacity of 5,000 people.

For the occasion, the government will serve various traditional Eid al-Fitr delicacies, such as ketupat. Additionally, light entertainment will be provided for children visiting with their families. "Citizens who wish to bring their families for a visit during Eid al-Fitr are most welcome at the Palace," Teddy said during a visit to Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Visitors will be welcomed in shifts within the Palace hall. According to Teddy, the government has also arranged for supplementary facilities, including outdoor tents, to accommodate any overflow if the interior reaches capacity. "If it becomes crowded inside, the State Secretary has prepared tents outside so that visitors can take turns entering," he noted.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo performed his Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, after observing the takbiran night in Medan, North Sumatra. Teddy mentioned that the President chose to perform the Eid prayer there while simultaneously monitoring post-flood recovery efforts in the region. "We will all fly to Aceh to perform the Eid prayer, specifically alongside the people of Aceh. We will also be conducting inspections," Teddy added.

The President was accompanied by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency, Angga Raka Prabowo.
