Kluivert Finalizes Indonesia's 23-Player Lineup to Face Japan in World Cup Qualifier

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s national team coach, Patrick Kluivert, has finalized the list of 23 players who will face Japan in the final Group C match of the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The match is scheduled to take place at Suita City Stadium in Osaka Prefecture on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 05:35 PM WIB (Western Indonesia Time).

Kluivert has dropped seven players, including Rizky Ridho, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Ivar Jenner, who is suspended after accumulating two yellow cards. This marks the second time Jenner has missed a third-round match against Japan.

Two wing backs, Pratama Arhan and Asnawi Mangkualam, were also excluded from the squad. Both had previously been left out of the team when Indonesia played against China at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on June 5.

Goalkeeper Maarten Paes returns to the squad after serving a suspension for yellow card accumulation. His return sees Nadeo Argawinata dropped, with Kluivert selecting Emil Audero, Paes, and Ernando Ari as the three goalkeepers.

Ramadhan Sananta is another player left out of the squad following the return of Marselino Ferdinan. Although Sananta featured as a substitute in all three of Kluivert's previous matches, he does not make the final cut.

Marselino joins five other forwards in the squad: Ole Romeny, Egy Maulana Vikri, Rafael Struick, Stefano Lilipaly, and Beckham Putra. Midfielder Ricky Kambuaya, who performed well as a left winger against China, is also included.

With Ridho unavailable, Jordi Amat has been called back into the squad. Shayne Pattynama also returns after being left out of the previous match against China.
