TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Indonesian House (DPR) Foreign Affairs Commission Utut Adianto said his commission would soon schedule a meeting with Foreign Minister Sugiono. This is done to discuss Indonesia's stance on the conflict in the Middle East, especially the United States' attack on Iran.
"We will soon invite the Foreign Minister to the DPR. The Foreign Minister is a state official, if I may speak personally," said Utut at the Constitutional Court building, Central Jakarta, Monday, June 23, 2025.
In the upcoming meeting, he continued, the House is also expected to request the government to show its strategic position by not favoring any country.
Utut firmly believes, President Prabowo Subianto fully understands his role in mediating the ongoing conflicts regarding Indonesia's foreign policy direction. "The most important thing is to prioritize the non-aligned principle, the principle of national interest," said the PDIP politician.
