TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo has invited a number of former presidents and vice presidents to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta tonight. Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, Indonesia's 7th president, is expected to attend.

Jokowi's presence has been confirmed by his aide, Police Superintendent Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah. "Yes, Bapak (Jokowi) has received the invitation," Syarif said in a brief WhatsApp message on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

According to Syarif, the meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. Jakarta time. He also confirmed that Jokowi will attend Prabowo's invitation.

Regarding what will be discussed during the meeting, Syarif replied, "The invitation specifies it as a social gathering and discussion."

Indonesia's 6th President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, is reportedly also going to attend. "If there is a presidential invitation, Pak SBY (the former president's familiar nickname) will certainly attend," said the General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Herman Khaeron, when contacted by Tempo.

However, he admitted he has yet to be sure whether SBY has accepted Prabowo's invitation to the Presidential Palace tonight. "But I will check later," said the man familiarly known as Hero.

Ma'ruf Amin, Indonesia's 13th Vice President who ruled alongside Jokowi, has also reportedly received the invitation.

Meanwhile, the 5th President, Megawati Soekarnoputri, has not been confirmed to attend.
