Among their discussions on global issues is the ongoing onslaught in Gaza, Palestine.
"My old friend, Dato’ Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, a long-time friend. We reminisced and exchanged views on global issues, economic issues, and cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia," said Prabowo after the meeting at the Presidential Palace.
Prabowo did not deny discussing specifically Trump’s import tariffs, as it’s been taking the global spotlight for a while. The Gerindra Party boss also did not overlook discussing the matters of Gaza as the two largest Muslim populations in the world. "We talked about Gaza. After all, the majority of our people are Muslim," he said.
Ahmad Zahid echoed Prabowo's statement that they discussed their longstanding friendship as well as strategic global issues. "Yes, I concur,” said Zahid.
However, they did not disclose specifically the content of their conversation. Prabowo only expressed his gratitude for the visit and hoped the ties between Indonesia and Malaysia would become tighter and beneficial to both countries.
