Tripdvisor Reveals the Best Hotel in the World for 2025

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tripadvisor has revealed its top picks for the best hotels in the Travellers' Choice Awards 2025, with Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya in Mexico earning the title of best hotel in the world. The resort also claimed the top spots in the All-Inclusive and Treat Yourself categories.

Nestled in the heart of Riviera Maya along Akumal's pristine white-sand beaches, this resort seamlessly combines elegant design with natural beauty. Akumal, which means "the place of turtles," is renowned for its stunning beaches, tranquil Caribbean waters, and the presence of green turtles.

Reviewers praised the impressive spa and fitness center at the resort, as well as its choice of pools. The resort boasts spacious rooms, beautiful gardens, and direct access to the beach.

Wellness enthusiasts can unwind at the fitness center, steam room, and spa, while thrill-seekers can enjoy diving and biking excursions.

Additionally, the resort's prime location for snorkeling makes it the perfect spot for ticking off a must-do activity during the stay.

"You'll love the poolside buffets, tequila tastings, and a variety of dining options. And, the resort's personalised concierge service will make it your most memorable trip yet," wrote TripAdvisor.

In second place is the Grandvrio Ocean Resort Danang from Vietnam, which is also located on the beachfront. Next is the Gokulam Grand Turtle on the Beach resort from India, situated on the southern coast of India on the Arabian Sea. In fourth place is the Romance Istanbul Hotel, Turkey, and in fifth place is the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba, Caribbean.

In sixth place is the St. Ermin's Hotel in London, which ranks second in Europe and sixth in the world. Located in the heart of St James, this hotel is part of the Marriott-owned Autograph Collection.

"Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Hotels captures the opinions of millions of travellers worldwide and offers trusted guidance for travellers to plan their best stays,"said Kristen Dalton, president of Tripadvisor, as quoted by The Independent.

Tripadvisor analyzed review data from over 1.6 million hotels listed on the platform over the past year to determine the highest-ranked hotels for 2025.

The winners span across 10 categories, including Top Hotels, All-Inclusive, B&Bs and Inns, Family-Friendly, Luxury, Small and Boutique, and Pet-Friendly. This year also introduced three new subcategories: One of a Kind, Treat Yourself, and a special 25th-anniversary list.
