TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the signing of a deal to end the conflict between the United States and Iran is scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026.

"The deal is scheduled to be signed tomorrow," Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform on Saturday, June 13, as cited by Antara.

Trump also stated that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened immediately after the deal is signed.

"The fact is, they (Iran) no longer want nuclear weapons, and they will not have them, whether through purchase, development, or any other means of acquisition," Trump said.

He added that relations between the two countries are now "much different and much better" than under the previous US administration.

Trump also said that the United States "will go in and pick up the nuclear dust" at the appropriate time and when the situation has truly calmed down.

According to Trump, the deal also does not include the transfer of US funds to Iran.

"Unlike the hundreds of billions of dollars in payments made to them under (former US President Barack) Obama, including $1.7 billion in cash, no money will change hands," Trump said.

Earlier that day, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry also stated that a signing ceremony for the deal was scheduled for Sunday.

"They (the Pakistani and Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministers) welcomed the US-Iran negotiations, which have entered their final stages, with an electronic signing ceremony scheduled for tomorrow," the ministry wrote via the X platform.

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Tehran and Washington had never been closer to reaching a memorandum of understanding. Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the final text of the peace deal had been agreed upon.

Araghchi also emphasized that Tehran remains adamant that the only acceptable way to deal with Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium is to process it on Iranian soil.
