TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The magic of Wicked continues to enchant fans with the official release of Wicked: For Good trailer. Following the excitement of last year's first film, Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba return to the big screen, both ready to dazzle with their powerful performances once more.
Released on June 4, the trailer also offers a sneak peek at other key characters, including Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), and, of course, the Wizard of Oz himself (Jeff Goldblum).
Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked: For Good picks up where the first part left off, continuing the tale of the evolving friendship between Glinda and Elphaba as their paths diverge. Glinda embraces her destiny as the Good Witch, while Elphaba transforms into the formidable and relentlessly hunted Wicked Witch of the West.
The trailer also teases Glinda walking down the aisle in a wedding dress, hinting at a possible marriage to Prince Fiyero and adding intrigue to the ongoing love triangle.
Sparking further curiosity to the story, Dorothy Gale and her friends are also seen walking down the Yellow Brick Road in the footage. What sparks even greater curiosity is a spoiler that Dorothy will have a larger role than in the original Broadway musical, as noted by Vanity Fair.
As the Wicked film franchise is based on the Tony-winning musical, expectations come high for its musical numbers. The trailer features beloved songs like No Good Deed and For Good, with promises of even more, including two brand-new songs specifically written for Part Two, one for Glinda and one for Elphaba.
Wicked: For Good was filmed back-to-back with the first installment in the UK and is set to greet fans on November 21, 2025—almost exactly a year after Part One hit theaters.
