5 Indonesian National Team Diaspora Players Currently Without Clubs

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several diaspora players of the Indonesian national team were left without a club until Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The players' contracts ended with the conclusion of the 2024/2025 competition season. These five naturalized players currently do not have clubs.

The five players are still amidst transfer rumors as they wait for clarity on agreements with new clubs. Here are the five naturalized players of the Indonesian national team whose contracts have been completed or expired by June 30, 2025.

Thom Haye

This attacking midfielder of the Indonesian national team is one of the naturalized Dutch-Indonesian players who regularly plays as a starter in the Garuda squad. Alongside defensive midfielder Joey Pelupessy, Haye is an anchor in distributing the ball to build attacks.

His contract with Almere City, a team relegated from Eredivisie, ended on June 30. The 30-year-old player is currently a free agent. Liga 1 club Persija Jakarta is rumored to be interested, although there has been no official statement from the club.

Justin Hubner

Another Indonesian national team player who regularly starts is defender Justin Hubner. The 21-year-old player is currently a free agent, as his contract with Wolves U-21 expired on June 30, 2025.

During his time with Wolves, Hubner played in 15 matches. The young defender, who had previously played for Cerezo Osaka, is rumored to be sought after by a Liga 1 club, although he is still considered capable of developing his career at a European club.

Rafael Struick

Similar to his situation with the Indonesian national team, where he has become a less frequent starter, Struick rarely plays for his top-division Australian club, Brisbane Roar. The 22-year-old forward only played 10 times for the club in one season and scored one goal.

Liga 1 club Bali United is rumored to be interested in bringing Struick to the Island of the Gods, although there has been no official statement from the club. The 22-year-old player is believed to need more playing time with the club to remain competitive for a starting position in the Indonesian national team's forward line.

Jordi Amat

This Indonesian national team defender, who initially represented the Garuda squad through naturalization, is now at the end of his contract with Malaysian club Johor Darul Ta'zim. He plays less as a starter for the Indonesian national team now, losing out to players such as Jay Idzes, Rizki Ridho, Justin Hubner, Calvin Verdonk, and Kevin Diks.

Two major clubs, Persija Jakarta and Persib Bandung, are believed to be interested in the 33-year-old defender. However, other rumors suggest that the former Swansea City player will return to his career in Spain.

Shayne Pattynama

Shayne Pattynama is currently without a club after KAS Eupen, his former Belgian club, terminated his contract. His contract was supposed to end on June 30, 2026. The 26-year-old player is a regular member of the Garuda squad, although lately he has rarely played as a starter.

Rumors suggest that Thai club Buriram United is interested in signing him. Additionally, Bhayangkara FC is also reportedly interested in Pattynama after the club was promoted back to Liga 1. Pattynama has not yet publicly announced which club he will join after leaving KAS Eupen.
