Bank DKI Officially Rebrands as Bank Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the name change of city-owned Bank DKI to Bank Jakarta on Sunday, June 22, 2025. This inauguration ceremony took place at Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park in South Jakarta, coinciding with the city's 498th anniversary.

Pramono stated that this name change signifies the beginning of a new phase of transformation for Bank DKI towards a more modern, professional, and competitive financial institution at both national and regional levels.

"This rebranding also represents a strategic step in preparing for the implementation of Law Number 2 of 2024 concerning the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, as well as the long-term roadmap towards the Initial Public Offering (IPO)," he explained through a written statement.

He elaborated that the name 'Jakarta' was selected after thorough deliberation. According to him, the name 'Jakarta' possesses a universal reach and global resonance, accurately reflecting the new stature of the regional bank, which is now poised to compete with national and international financial institutions.

"This name is not only brief and strong but also carries the collective aspiration of Jakarta residents to have a bank that reflects the city's identity, while also being part of Indonesia's economic growth engine," Pramono conveyed.

During the event, Governor Pramono also unveiled the new Bank Jakarta logo, which thoughtfully retains the essential symbolism of the National Monument (Monas). The updated logo features three diagonal lines, devoid of a confining circular boundary, visually evoking the upward trajectory of Monas's flame. "This new logo resembles the soaring flame of Monas, a symbol of continuously growing aspirations, surpassing spatial and temporal boundaries," he noted.

Agus H. Widodo, Chief Executive Officer of Bank Jakarta, affirmed that this rebranding signifies a comprehensive transformation, extending beyond visual alterations. This transformation includes strengthening governance and risk management, modernizing the information technology infrastructure, accelerating the digitalization of ecosystem-based services, enhancing cybersecurity measures, and improving credit distribution productivity.

"We want the people of Jakarta to feel that this change is not cosmetic, but reflects a deep commitment to becoming a financially strong, well-governed bank, and a tangible presence in people's lives," Agus stated.

Meanwhile, Arie Rinaldi, Corporate Secretary of Bank Jakarta, emphasized that the adoption of the new name and logo will be implemented gradually. During this transition period, both the old and new corporate identities will be used concurrently.

He also assured that all legal relationships with customers and partners will proceed as usual, without any changes. Arie urged the public to exercise caution regarding potential fraudulent activities capitalizing on this rebranding. "Be cautious of fraudulent attempts using the name change of Bank DKI and ensure that all official information is obtained only through the bank's official channels and Call Center 1500 351," Arie advised.
