BMKG Forecasts Noon Showers in Bogor and Tangerang Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds will pour over parts of Bogor Regency and Tangerang Regency tonight, Friday, May 30, 2025. The air humidity in Jakarta and its surrounding areas is around 60-80 percent throughout the day.

Referring to the latest weather forecast by BMKG, heavy rain has been pouring over parts of Bogor and Tangerang since Thursday night until early this morning, May 29. At the same time, light rain still dampens West Jakarta, South Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. Rain also falls in Tangerang, South Tangerang, Depok, and Bogor.

Before 07.00 AM WIB, the weather in Jabodetabek tends to be partly cloudy. Light rain will likely fall in the City and Regency of Bogor from 01.00 PM to 07.00 PM. Tangerang Regency is likely to experience rain during this period.

The air temperature in most areas of Jabodetabek ranges from 26-33 degrees Celsius. Only the Bogor region has a lower temperature, around 22-32 degrees Celsius. The wind tends to blow to the south at 2-10 kilometers per hour.

Based on the latest climate analysis for the second decad of May 2025, only about 11 percent of the Seasonal Zone in Indonesia has entered the dry season. About 73 percent of the area is still experiencing the rainy season. This means that most areas in Indonesia are in the transition phase, from the rainy season to the dry season.

During this phase, the weather pattern is generally clear from morning to noon, then changes to rain with thunder in the afternoon or evening. The phenomenon above is not only caused by local convection that commonly occurs during the transition phase but also by the influence of global atmospheric phenomena such as the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO), Equatorial Rossby and Kelvin waves, as well as tropical disturbances around the southwest of Bengkulu.
