TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicted that parts of Jakarta and its greater metropolitan area (Jabodetabek) will face rain on Tuesday night, June 2, 2026. The downpour in several satellite cities surrounding the capital is expected to persist until early Wednesday morning.
According to the latest BMKG weather forecast, the potential for light rain has been brewing in sections of South and East Jakarta from midday until 7 p.m. Tuesday. This same outlook covers South Tangerang City and Tangerang Regency. Meanwhile, moderate rainfall threatens parts of Bekasi, while heavier downpours are anticipated to lash both the city and regency of Bogor.
Temperatures in Bogor today hover between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. In contrast, the mercury across the rest of Greater Jakarta runs higher, averaging a warmer 26 to 34 degrees Celsius. Given the widespread threat of rain, humidity levels are hovering between 54 and 98 percent.
From 7 p.m. through the early hours of tomorrow, overcast skies are set to blanket the entire Greater Jakarta region. Nevertheless, light showers remain highly possible in East Jakarta, Bekasi City and Regency, and throughout Bogor.
The areas affected by rain are likely to expand during the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Light rain is projected to brush parts of East and South Jakarta, while moderate downpours are poised to drench Depok City alongside Bekasi and Bogor. "Beware of potential rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds during the night and early morning hours," the BMKG safety alert warned.
