TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The official search period for victims of the major flood in Bali concluded on Thursday evening, September 18, 2025. According to authorities, four individuals are still reported missing: one person in Denpasar and a family of three in Badung Regency.

"This evening, the search for all flood victims in the Bali region was officially stopped, and this has been stipulated in Law Number 29 of 2014 concerning Search and Rescue," stated the Head of the Bali Basarnas Office, I Nyoman Sidakarya, in Denpasar.

Despite the suspension of active search operations, the Bali Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) will continue to monitor specific locations in close communication with the victims' families. This monitoring will be coordinated with Search and Rescue (SAR) elements in Denpasar and Badung.

The severe flooding, which affected Denpasar, Jembrana, Badung, and Gianyar, occurred on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. The disaster resulted in at least 18 confirmed fatalities, in addition to the four individuals who are still missing.

The missing victims have been identified as Made Suwitri (43) in Denpasar, and a family in Badung Regency: Rio Hadnar Boelan (56), Bewi Ratnawati Soenarjo (57), and Riviere Timothy George (23).

The joint SAR team had deployed all available resources for over a week to locate the victims, using both river searches and rubber boats. However, after extensive efforts, no sign of the missing individuals was found.

"After evaluating for several days and finding no signs of the victims, today we are stopping the search efforts by deploying the joint SAR elements and our equipment," Nyoman said.

He offered his deepest condolences to the victims' families and expressed gratitude to all members of the joint SAR team for their diligent efforts.
