Hammersonic 2026 Packs Lineup With International Acts

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Despite the cancellation of New Jersey, United States-based band My Chemical Romance from the lineup, Hammersonic 2026 is still set to go ahead with dozens of performers from both Indonesia and abroad.

The heavy music festival is scheduled to take place on May 2–3, 2026, at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) in PIK 2, Jakarta.

Several major names have already been confirmed for Hammersonic 2026, including New Found Glory, The Story So Far, Parkway Drive, Counterparts, Memphis May Fire, Of Mice & Men, Jinjer, and Blessthefall. Other acts spanning metalcore, hardcore punk, and death metal have also been announced, such as Knocked Loose, Gorilla Biscuits, As I Lay Dying, and Fleshgod Apocalypse.

Ravel Entertainment CEO Ravel Junardy said the promoter remains fully committed to the festival, which carries the theme Decade of Dominion and marks Hammersonic’s 10th anniversary.

“It’s not that we are neglecting Hammersonic, but we are facing challenges due to the current geopolitical conditions, which have affected the festival,” he said in South Jakarta on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Ravel said that after the original plan fell through, his team quickly reworked the event by curating a more diverse lineup across multiple hard music subgenres. “In the end, we decided to bring in many genres and solve the issues one by one. Of course, we want to give the best for Hammersonic, and it will be worth the wait,” he said.

With less than a month to go before the event, Ravel said the promoter has continued to finalize production requirements and secure the artists set to perform.

“It’s not easy to organize a music festival, especially one on an international scale. So far, 31 artists have been confirmed, and the total will likely be around 30 to 40. Some bands have withdrawn, while others have joined, and they are all equally exciting,” he said.

My Chemical Romance Concert Still Going On

Although My Chemical Romance will no longer headline Hammersonic 2026, Ravel Entertainment will instead promote the band’s standalone concert at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on November 22, 2026.

My Chemical Romance had originally been scheduled to perform on the festival’s second day. After the band’s withdrawal from Hammersonic was confirmed, Ravel Entertainment arranged a ticket refund scheme for ticket holders.

“MCR’s world tour is definitely happening, so the concert will go ahead. It’s just that the Hammersonic appearance is not part of that tour. But in the end, the tour will also come to Indonesia, so it is definitely confirmed,” Ravel said.
