Indonesia's Prabowo Visits Singapore for Diplomatic and Economic Talks

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto left for Singapore on Sunday afternoon, June 15, 2025. As reported by the Presidential Secretariat's Press, Media, and Information Bureau, the President and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at approximately 06:20 PM Western Indonesia Time.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia were present to see him off.

President Prabowo is slated to attend a number of important engagements in Singapore on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Yusuf Permana, Indonesia's Deputy of Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, said Prabowo will receive an official welcome in a state ceremony hosted by Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Parliament House of Singapore

According to Yusuf, the ceremony reflects the strong diplomatic relationship between the two nations.

As part of the visit, President Prabowo will also pay a courtesy call to President Tharman.

"In addition to meeting with the President of Singapore, President Prabowo is also scheduled to attend a Leaders' Retreat bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong," said Yusuf Permana in his written statement.

Yusuf noted that the visit is a strategic opportunity to deepen cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore in various sectors. President Prabowo is accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on the trip.
