TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah delivered a stellar performance at the 2025 IWF World Weightlifting Championships in Forde, Norway, early Tuesday, October 7.

Rizki captured two gold medals in the men’s 79-kilogram class, dominating both the Clean and Jerk and total lift events, according to official IWF results released Tuesday.

Rizki set a new world record in the Clean and Jerk after successfully lifting 204 kilograms, earning him the gold medal. His second gold came in the total lift category with a combined 361 kilograms, consisting of 157 kilograms in the Snatch and 204 kilograms in the Clean and Jerk.

The 21-year-old lifter also claimed a bronze medal in the Snatch after lifting 157 kilograms, though he fell short in two subsequent attempts to lift 162 kilograms.

Rizki’s compatriot, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, contributed to Indonesia’s medal tally with a silver medal in the Clean and Jerk after lifting 203 kilograms.

In the same weight class, North Korean lifter Ri Chong-song took the silver medal in the total lift with 360 kilograms and won gold in the Snatch with a lift of 163 kilograms.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s Mohamed Younes earned bronze in the total lift category, also with 360 kilograms, from lifts of 162 kilograms in Snatch and 198 kilograms in Clean and Jerk

The bronze medal in the Clean and Jerk went to South Korea’s Son Hyeon-ho, who lifted 198 kilograms.

Earlier in the tournament, Indonesia’s veteran lifter Eko Yuli Irawan also secured a bronze medal in the men’s 65-kilogram class Snatch category, recording a lift of 137 kilograms last Saturday.
