TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has proposed a Hajj Service Cost (BPIH) of Rp88.4 million per pilgrim for 2026. The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, submitted the proposal for the Hajj cost during a working meeting with Commission VIII of the House of Representatives at Senayan in Jakarta on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Dahnil mentioned that the prospective pilgrims will bear 62 percent of the total Hajj journey cost, or Rp54 million.
"The government proposes an average BPIH per pilgrim of Rp88,409,365.45 with Hajj journey cost composition of Rp54,924,000, or equivalent to 62 percent of the total value (Hajj cost)," said Dahnil during the working meeting with House Commission VIII in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Furthermore, the 38 percent difference between the BPIH and the cost of the Hajj journey will be paid through the optimization of Hajj savings, amounting to Rp33,485,365. These are Hajj savings, which are the pilgrimage costs deposited by people intending to perform Hajj at a government-owned bank.
"In short, the value we propose related to the reduced BPIH is Rp1 million compared to last year," said Dahnil.
He also detailed the types of Hajj costs amounting to Rp54 million that will be charged to the prospective pilgrims.
Costs charged to prospective pilgrims:
- Flight costs from the embarkation to Saudi Arabia (round trip): Rp33,100,000.
- Accommodation in Mecca Rp14,652,000.
- Accommodation in Medina Rp3,872,000.
- Living expenses Rp3,300,000.
Costs charged to the value of benefits or optimization of Hajj savings:
- Accommodation service Rp5,500,000.
- Consumption service Rp6,000,000.
- Transportation service Rp3,000,000.
- Services in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina Rp15,000,000.
- Protection costs Rp846,000.
- Services in embarkation or disembarkation Rp89,000.
- Travel documents Rp214,000.
- Pilgrim equipment Rp30,000.
- Pilgrim guidance in the homeland and in Saudi Arabia Rp782,563.
- General services in the homeland and in Saudi Arabia Rp517,000.
- Management of BPIH around Rp96,000.
