TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - British rock band Oasis reunited for the first time in 16 years, kicking off their highly anticipated "Oasis Live '25" tour at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4, 2025. Thousands of fans attended the performance, which was filled with nostalgia, emotional moments, and musical highlights that marked a historic return for the iconic Britpop group.
The atmosphere was electric as fans packed the 74,500-capacity stadium, ready to relive the music that defined a generation. The show marked a significant cultural moment, not only for loyal Oasis followers but also for younger audiences discovering the band’s legacy for the first time.
Noel and Liam Share the Stage Once Again
A particularly emotional moment came when brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher appeared on stage together. The duo had not shared a stage since their infamous falling out in 2009, which led to Noel leaving the band.
On Friday night, however, the two walked out side by side, holding hands as their traditional opener “F-kin’ in the Bushes” blared through the stadium.
Crowd Electrifies Principality Stadium
As reported by Billboard, Oasis delivered a powerful performance to a packed stadium of 74,500 fans. The crowd’s energy, especially in the roof-covered venue, created a deafening wall of sound. Songs like “Bring It on Down” and “Cigarettes & Alcohol” reminded the audience of the band's early Manchester roots and had fans singing along with unrelenting passion.
The band kept close contact with the audience throughout the show. During “D’You Know What I Mean?”, Liam shouted, “All my people right here right now,” inviting the crowd to join in.
When performing the 1994 B-side “Fade Away,” the band reflected on their youth in Manchester. Liam even asked if anyone was from Burnage, their hometown, while Noel dedicated “The Masterplan” to young fans seeing them live for the first time.
Tribute to Diogo Jota
During “Live Forever,” Oasis paid tribute to Liverpool FC’s Diogo Jota, who died in a car crash a day earlier. Though known as Manchester City fans, the band’s gesture transcended football rivalries to honor Jota, a promising athlete, husband, and father who passed away at the age of 28.
Later in the concert, “Don’t Look Back in Anger” brought a particularly moving moment. Often viewed as a national anthem of hope, especially in the wake of the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, the song was accompanied by the image of a bee (the symbol of Manchester) on the screen. As the audience sang in unison, Noel barely needed to sing the chorus himself.
Setlist of the 2025 Reunion Tour
According to Variety, the concert opened with “F-kin’ in the Bushes” and continued with fan favorites like “Hello,” “Acquiesce,” “Morning Glory,” and “Some Might Say.” Other classics performed included “Fade Away,” “Supersonic,” “Roll With It,” and “Slide Away.”
Noel took the lead on tracks such as “Talk Tonight,” “Little by Little,” and “Half the World Away.” The band also played “Stand By Me,” “Cast No Shadow,” “Whatever,” and “D’You Know What I Mean?” The concert closed with some of Oasis’ biggest anthems: “Live Forever,” “Rock ’n’ Roll Star,” “The Masterplan,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” “Wonderwall,” and “Champagne Supernova.”
