TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is scheduled to meet with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to discuss a debt settlement strategy for prospective subsidized housing customers. Purbaya stated that this meeting aims to provide clarity for individuals whose poor credit records within the OJK's Financial Services Information System (SLIK) are currently preventing them from accessing the government's subsidized Housing Ownership Credit (KPR) program.

Data from the Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) indicates that 111,000 prospective KPR customers are being hindered by negative listings in the SLIK database. "We will have a meeting with OJK," Purbaya said, adding that he instructed BP Tapera to verify the figure of over 100,000 affected individuals.

He further suggested that the resolution could involve the developers, "This means that if the debts are settled, supposedly the developers will pay, which is good." Purbaya made these remarks at Wisma Mandiri II in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 13, 2025.

The OJK's SLIK is a crucial mechanism used by financial institutions to assess an applicant's creditworthiness. It functions by recording loan payment history, the amount of active credit, and overall payment behavior, allowing institutions to accurately evaluate risk before granting new credit.

Purbaya believes that resolving these non-performing debts will significantly boost the absorption of subsidized housing quotas. "We will think of ways to address this issue in the near future," he stated, anticipating that the demand for subsidized housing will rise significantly once customers are cleared from the SLIK issues.

Furthermore, Purbaya acknowledged the proactive efforts of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in achieving subsidized housing absorption targets, though he cautioned PUPR Minister Maruarar Sirait against complacency to ensure maximum distribution is realized.

In response, PUPR Minister Maruarar Sirait confirmed that the OJK's SLIK had been a major point of complaint from housing developers, as many prospective customers failed KPR applications due to poor credit history. Maruarar welcomed the Finance Minister’s intervention, stating, "He is willing to help later with OJK, to help resolve, and provide a way out with policies."
