TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairperson of the Russian Security Council and former President, stated that several countries are ready to supply nuclear weapons to Iran following the United States' airstrike on Tehran's nuclear facilities.
"A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their nuclear weapons," Medvedev said via Telegram on Sunday, June 22, 2025, as reported by Anadolu.
His comments came just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces had bombed nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The attack marks the latest escalation in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
Medvedev suggested that the targeted facilities appeared to have sustained minimal or insignificant damage. According to him, Iran's uranium enrichment and potential development of nuclear weapons might continue.
He warned that the U.S. had been drawn into another major conflict, arguing that Iran's political leadership emerged stronger as a result of the attack.
He criticized Trump for reigniting war, despite claiming to be a "peacekeeper" during his campaign. He also dismissed the possibility of Trump winning the Nobel Peace Prize, given that the majority of countries worldwide oppose the actions of the U.S. and Israel.
The recent U.S. attack is the latest escalation in U.S.-backed Israeli military strikes against Iran since June 13, which prompted Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks on Israel.
Israeli authorities have reported at least 25 casualties and hundreds injured since then due to Iran's missile strikes.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Health Ministry has reported 430 fatalities and over 3,500 injuries from Israel's attacks.
