Whoosh Offers Up to 50% Ticket Discounts on School Holidays

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The management of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) is offering various travel discount programs of up to 50 percent across all Whoosh service routes. The price cuts aim to support the government’s efforts to boost public mobility and economic growth during the school holiday period.

The discounts on the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train apply throughout June and July 2025. KCIC general manager corporate secretary Eva Chairunisa said the school holiday period is one of the highest travel volume seasons for Whoosh, alongside the Christmas-New Year and Eid holidays.

"This discount program is KCIC's way of supporting government policies in boosting public movement during school holidays," Eva said in an official statement quoted Monday, June 9.

By offering more affordable fares, Eva said, KCIC seeks to ensure broader public access to the service while supporting regional economic growth through tourism and domestic travel. Below are details of the discount options and fare flexibility offered:

1. 20-percent discount for group trips

KCIC offers up to 20 percent discount for group bookings on the Premium Economy class. This promo applies to groups with a minimum of 20 people on the same departure schedule, valid for all Whoosh travel routes. Bookings must be made via KCIC Group WhatsApp at 0813-4000-2920, no later than five days before departure.

2. 43-percent discount using Frequent Whoosher Card

By using the Frequent Whoosher Card (FWC), a subscription card, Premium Economy fares can drop to Rp200,000, which is some 43 percent cheaper than the high-season maximum fare of Rp350,000. Passengers get a flat rate regardless of holidays or departure time.

The FWC comes in two types: Gold for 10 trips valid for 60 days, and Silver for 6 trips valid for 30 days. Both can be purchased at any Whoosh Station ticket counter.

3. Up to 50 percent discount through Whoosh Edutrip Program

With discounts of up to 50 percent, schools can take students on productive holiday trips using the Whoosh high-speed train. The Edutrip program applies to groups of at least 20 participants. Transactions can be made through a dedicated WhatsApp number at 0813-4000-2920.

4. Flexible fares starting from Rp225,000 for the Jakarta-Bandung route

KCIC applies dynamic pricing for the Premium Economy class on the Jakarta-Bandung route starting at Rp225,000. Through this scheme, ticket prices are adjusted dynamically based on booking time, day of travel, and train occupancy.
