Indonesia's Suahasil Nazara to Maintain KSSK Coordination on Economic Policy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara is prepared to continue coordination with the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) in determining the direction of future fiscal and economic policies.

"We will certainly continue coordination with the KSSK, as it is mandated by law," Suahasil told reporters following the handover ceremony for the position of Finance Minister of the Republic of Indonesia at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as reported by Antara.

Suahasil noted that coordination with the KSSK provides a comprehensive perspective on Indonesia's economic development. This is because the KSSK comprises various financial institutions with cross-cutting responsibilities, including the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia (BI), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).

Furthermore, recent KSSK meetings have also involved the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara, which provides input from the perspective of an entity managing large-scale investments and business operations.

“KSSK holds periodic meetings, and technical team meetings also take place. Additionally, Danantara was invited to the most recent KSSK meeting. Indeed, having more parties discuss and explain the various aspects of Indonesia's economic development leads to better outcomes,” he said.

The handover of the Finance Minister position from Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to Suahasil Nazara officially took place at the Ministry of Finance offices on Tuesday, September 15, 2026—one day after the inauguration ceremony held at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Suahasil was sworn in as the new Finance Minister pursuant to Presidential Decree Number 97P of 2026 regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of the Finance Minister for the Red and White Cabinet (serving the remainder of the 2024–2029 term), issued on September 14, 2026, by President Prabowo Subianto.

Suahasil Nazara is the third Finance Minister under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto. The previous Finance Minister, Purbaya, was inaugurated on September 8, 2025, succeeding Sri Mulyani. He had previously served as Deputy Finance Minister, a role he held starting under the Onward Indonesia Cabinet led by President Joko Widodo and continuing into the Red and White Cabinet led by President Prabowo Subianto.
