TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) has sent off the badminton team that will compete in the 2026 Thomas & Uber Cup, held in Horsens, Denmark, from April 24 to May 3.
As reported by Antara, the Red and White team is scheduled to leave for Denmark on April 16 to attend a training camp and prepare for the upcoming tournament.
"The send-off of the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cup teams is a crucial moment, not only marking the beginning of the struggle but also strengthening the unity of the entire Indonesian badminton family. We believe that team strength is built not only through training and strategy, but also through trust and solidarity," said PBSI Chair Fadil Imran in an official statement on Wednesday.
Fadil Imran said that Indonesia's strength in badminton comes not only from technical aspects, such as training and strategy, but also from togetherness, trust, and team solidarity.
Fadil emphasized that for Indonesia, badminton is not just a sport; it is part of the nation's identity, pride, and joy.
On that occasion, Fadil also thanked the coaches and support team for their hard work in preparing the athletes, both technically and mentally.
"With thorough preparation and a strong spirit of togetherness, we are optimistic that the Indonesian team will be able to deliver the best results and once again bring honor to the Indonesian nation," said Fadil.
The Indonesian Thomas Cup team is in Group D with France, Thailand, and Algeria. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Uber Cup team is in Group C with Chinese Taipei, Canada, and Australia.
