Indonesia vs Japan Lineups: Beckham Putra Gets Starting Nod in Decisive Match

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Japan vs Indonesia match will be the final game of the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualification in the Asian zone. It is scheduled to take place at Suita City Stadium on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 05:35 PM WIB (Western Indonesia TIme), and will be broadcast live on RCTI and Vision+.

Ahead of the match against Japan, coach Patrick Kluivert made several changes to the starting lineup. He continued to use the 3-4-3 formation. Emil Audero Mulyadi remains the goalkeeper, while Maarten Paes was moved to the bench. Audero will be protected by three central defenders. Mees Hilgers took over the position left vacant by Rizky Ridho, who is out due to a hamstring injury. Hilgers will partner with captain Jay Idzes and Justin Hubner.

On the wings, Kevin Diks and Dean James are the main choices. These two flank Thom Haye and Joey Pelupessy, who anchor the midfield.

The Dutch coach also made changes to the front line. Beckham Putra Nugara will play as a starter alongside Ole Romeny and Yance Sayuri.

In Japan’s squad, coach Hajime Moriyasu regularly rotated his starting eleven. He employed a 3-5-2 formation with a variation of 3-4-1-2. He rested main goalkeeper Zion Suzuki and selected Keisuke Osako to guard the goal. Osako will be protected by three defenders: Kota Takai, Ryoya Morishita, and Ayumu Seko.

In midfield, Wataru Endo returned to lead the team. He will guide Kaishu Sano, Takefusa Kubo, Shunsuke Mito, and Daichi Kamada in breaking through the Garuda squad’s defense. These midfielders will support the two strikers, Shuto Machino and Junnosuke Suzuki.
