TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reported that outstanding debt in the Indonesian online loan industry reached Rp92.92 trillion in October 2025. This figure represents a robust growth of 23.86 percent year-on-year (YoY), a higher rate than the 22.16 percent YoY recorded in the preceding month.

Despite the rapid expansion, the overall quality of credit remains relatively stable. The gross Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio, also known as Non-Performing Financing (NPF), was recorded at 2.79 percent.

Furthermore, the level of risk associated with overdue loans (defined as loans past due by 90 days, or NPL90) saw a slight decrease. "The aggregate credit risk level or NPL90 is at 2.76 percent," stated Agusman, the Executive Chief Supervisor of Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Microfinance Institutions, and Other Financial Institutions at the OJK, during a press conference on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

The report also highlighted significant trends in other financing sub-sectors. The Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), or the financing provided by non-bank financing companies, saw a substantial increase, growing by 69.71 percent YoY in October 2025 to Rp10.85 trillion. However, this marks a deceleration from the previous month's growth rate of 88.65 percent.

Financing in the venture capital sector contracted slightly by 0.10 percent YoY in October 2025, with the total financing value recorded at Rp16.30 trillion. Financing distribution within the pawn industry showed the strongest growth among these specific sectors, surging by 38.89 percent YoY to reach Rp 120.45 trillion in October 2025.

Overall, the financing company's receivables grew by 0.68 percent YoY in October 2025, reaching a total of Rp 505.30 trillion. This growth was primarily "supported by working capital financing that grew by 9.28 percent year-on-year," Agusman concluded.
