TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian female tennis player Janice Tjen swept two champion titles at the ITF W35 Luzhou tournament in China on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She became the champion in the women's singles category, as well as in the women's doubles alongside Priska Nugroho.
In the final round, Janice, who was the second seed in the women's singles, defeated the local tennis player Fangzhou Liu 6-0, 6-4 in their first head-to-head match.
"Could not have asked for a better week. Bringing home the singles and doubles titles in W35 Luzhou!" said Janice through her social media post, quoted in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian duo, Janice/Priska, triumphed over the Japanese pair Saki Imamura/Ikumi Yamazaki with a score of 6-4, 6-3 in the final match on Saturday. "Happy to be on the court with @priskanugroho, let's keep fighting for more," said Janice, referring to her partner, and then posted a photo with her companion.
Janice's impressive performance continued with a smooth journey to the final without losing a single set. Her success in Luzhou extended her winning record and added to the collection of titles for the Jakarta-born tennis player.
Janice continued her winning streak after being named the ITF World Tennis Tour Player of the Month for May 2025. She ended May with 16 wins and only two losses.
Prior to continuing her tour to China, following her triumph at the ITF W15 Manshaan last weekend, Sunday (June 8), Janice also emerged as the runner-up with Priska in the indoor hardcourt tournament.
Janice arrived in China after securing two ITF W35 titles in South Korea. The bronze medalist in the women's doubles at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, along with Aldila Sutjiadi, won the ITF W35 Goyang and ITF W35 Andong tournaments in May.
She also reached the singles final and clinched the women's doubles title with Saki Imamura from Japan at the first week of May during the ITF W35 Goyang.
