TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A free nutritious meal (MBG) service vehicle plowed into a school fence and a group of students during a morning literacy session at the state elementary school (SDN) Kalibaru 01 in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
The incident, which occurred in one of the Indonesian capital’s northern districts, was confirmed by Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik Sudaryati Deyang.
The crash occurred at around 06:39 AM WIB, injuring 17 students and one teacher. Nanik refuted circulating claims that the accident caused two deaths.
“No, there are no fatalities,” she said on Thursday.
According to an internal report from the Cilincing Police Sector, the vehicle, driven by a 34-year-old local resident identified as AI, suddenly broke through the school fence and sped toward the field where students had gathered for a pre-class reading activity.

They included a student identified as W, who suffered bruising to the head and arm; MF, who sustained a head laceration; and K, who is suspected to have a broken arm. One student, A, reportedly suffered more severe injuries. A teacher, HM, was also struck and is undergoing treatment.
Police have taken the MBG driver into custody for further investigation. The vehicle, bearing license plate B 2093 UIU, is registered to SPPG RW 03 Kalibaru.
