Prabowo Confident Danantara Could Exceed US$1tn in Assets

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto believes that the new sovereign wealth agency, Daya Anagata Nusantara, or Danantara, could rack up US$1 trillion, as the state-owned enterprises (SOEs) it manages are quite wealthy in assets. 

Prabowo revealed this during a Danantara town hall meeting on Monday, April 28, 2025. "While we were tallying up our assets, it turned out we were rich. Danantara’s wealth could reach US$1 trillion soon enough,” he told the media crew after the meeting.

To Danatara’s management, the attendees, SOE leaders, and several ministers, Prabowo remarked that Danantara is the nation’s wealth, therefore must be managed diligently, preserved with transparency, and through a rigorous system. Danantara’s assets could amass a huge revenue for the country if managed well, he said. 

The head of state also asked all SOE leaders to do their best and leave inefficient business practices. "Any improper practices must be abandoned. I leave it to the management to evaluate the performance of all directors (of SOEs)," he said.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, disclosed that the current assets of SOEs reached US$900 billion. "In fact, it's already passed US$900 billion," he said.

In addition, there are other assets that will also be included in the management of Danantara. "And detailed planning is carried out in order to make this a productive asset. An asset that can produce a good return on assets and return of investment, based on the existing parameters,” he said.
