TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto continued his state visit to Paris, France, after an intensive meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Russia. Prabowo arrived in Paris on Monday night, April 13, 2026, at 23:50 local time.
"After a five-hour meeting with President Putin at the Kremlin, the President immediately departed for France, with a travel time of approximately 3.5 hours, arriving in Paris at midnight," said Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya in a written statement on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
According to Teddy, the lengthy meeting between Prabowo and Putin demonstrated the seriousness of Indonesia and Russia in strengthening their strategic partnership, particularly in the energy, mineral resources, and national industry development sectors.
Upon arrival in Paris, the Head of State is scheduled to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron at the lyse Palace. "The President will have a one-on-one meeting with President Macron at the lyse Palace to discuss the enhancement of strategic cooperation between the two countries," Teddy said.
Teddy stated that the meeting between Prabowo and Macron will not only focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation, but also serve as an important moment for Indonesia to convey its strategic views on global dynamics.
"During this meeting, the President will not only strengthen cooperation with the French Government but also convey Indonesia's position in maintaining global stability and promoting world peace," said Teddy.
