TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto summoned several officials from the Red and White Cabinet to his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Prabowo and his staff discussed a number of things, ranging from education to defense and national security.
Based on the post on the @presidenrepublikindonesia Instagram account, the limited meeting held in Hambalang was attended by Foreign Minister Sugiono; Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto; State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi; and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Angga Raka Prabowo.
Also present were Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Chief of the National Intelligence Agency Muhammad Herindra, Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Agus Subiyanto, Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces General Tandyo Budi Revita, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, and Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Muhammad Ali.
In addition, there were also Head of the Government Communication Bureau Muhammad Qodari, Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya, and President Director of PT Pindad Sigit Puji Santosa.
"The President held a limited meeting in Hambalang, Bogor, with several members of the Red and White Cabinet," wrote @presidenrepublikindonesia on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
During the meeting, President Prabowo was said to have discussed the development of several strategic issues, including the education sector in commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) and the progress of downstreaming programs. In addition, the meeting also discussed defense and security aspects in maintaining the country's stability amidst global geopolitical dynamics.
The Cabinet Secretariat stated that the limited meeting took place from afternoon until evening.
According to the Secretariat, several main points discussed related to the submission of aspirations from workers' unions throughout the country, as well as issues related to education. "Including the utilization of the role of universities in the country to directly participate in developing their regions, especially through the utilization of engineering faculties in those universities," as stated by @sekretariat.kabinet.
