Prabowo Returns to Indonesia After 11-Day Overseas Visit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto returned to Indonesia on Friday morning, February 27, 2026, following an eleven-day official trip abroad. He landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase, Jakarta.

As he descended from the presidential plane, Prabowo was greeted by rain in the capital. Several aides were seen shielding the Gerindra Party chair, alongside a number of officials who welcomed him at the foot of the aircraft stairs.

Cabinet members present at Halim included Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. As broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's social media, Gibran was seen paying his respects as he watched Prabowo disembark from the plane.

In addition to Gibran, Prabowo’s arrival was greeted by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and Indonesian National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The president exchanged brief conversations with the officials before leaving the airport complex in the presidential vehicle.

Before returning to Indonesia on Friday, Prabowo’s overseas tour began in the United States. The Head of State departed Indonesia on Monday, February 16, 2026, and arrived in Washington D.C. a day later.

In the United States, Prabowo met with US President Donald Trump to sign a trade agreement. The former defense minister also participated in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington.

After his visit to the United States, Prabowo continued his journey to London, England, on Monday, February 23, 2026. In the United Kingdom, he witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Danantara Investment Management and British semiconductor company Arm Limited.

Following his visit to England, Prabowo traveled to Jordan. On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, he visited the Basman Palace in Amman to meet with King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein.

From Jordan, Prabowo continued to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, February 26, 2026, where he met President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Qasr Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi. During the visit, he also broke the fast with President MBZ and the UAE emirs.

After concluding his trip to the UAE, President Prabowo returned to Indonesia, arriving at Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase on Friday morning, February 27, 2026.
