TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - FIFA has confirmed the capacity of the 2026 World Cup stadiums in Mexico, Canada, and the United States, with the total set to break the attendance record for the world's biggest international football tournament.

According to its official website, as quoted by ANTARA, FIFA has confirmed the final capacities of all 16 stadiums that will host matches just one day before the opening whistle of the 2026 World Cup. Confirmation of stadium capacity for the tournament marks the final operational milestone in the countdown to the opening match.

Due to unprecedented global demand, FIFA stated that the record attendance of 3.5 million set at the 1994 World Cup is well on track to be surpassed. This reflects the scale and ambition of the first edition of the tournament, in which 48 teams will participate.

The final capacity set further underscores the enormous scale of the 2026 World Cup, which will feature more teams, more matches, and more spectators than ever before, setting new standards for attendance and fan engagement globally.

Meanwhile, the total capacity of the 16 2026 World Cup stadiums is 1.03 million spectators if they are fully occupied for one round of matches.
