Muhammad Nas stated that the combat exercises being carried out are part of the routine activities in the TNI's readiness and professionalism program for its personnel.
"These activities are conducted to test the capability and readiness of personnel, weaponry, command systems, and operational readiness in accordance with the TNI's main duties and the duties of each service," said Muhammad Nas to Tempo on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
He explained that the exercises are conducted regardless of the presence of any threat. According to him, as the country's defense force, the TNI must always be prepared to face a range of possibilities and levels of threat.

In a release by the TNI Headquarters Information Center on Thursday, May 28, 2026, the exercise was conducted by the Sea Combat Task Force Command (Guspurla Koarmada) II.
"Exercises must be continually conducted to enhance the readiness of units and personnel so that they are always ready to face the dynamics of their duties in the field," said Commander of Guspurla Koarmada II, Navy Rear Admiral Endra Hartono.
