The Iran-Israel war has undeniably impacted the tourism sector. Hariyanto, Deputy for Destination Development and Infrastructure at the Ministry of Tourism, addressed this situation, stating that the Iran-Israel conflict could affect flight activities in the Middle East.
"There will certainly be an influence, but we are in a position where certain aspects are advantageous. Indonesia is currently the safest place to travel with a wide range of destination options," he said on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

2. Israel Sought to Kill Iran's Top Leader Khamenei, Says Defense Minister
Iran and Israel are currently under a ceasefire following 12 days of conflict, though both sides continue to issue statements and threats through media channels.
On Wednesday, June 25, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz gave an interview to Channel 13 Israel, while Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a televised video address.
In the interview, Katz reaffirmed his intention to target Khamenei, stating that the United States had given Israel the green light to launch another strike on Tehran if it detects any "progress" in Iran’s nuclear program.
He added that the Israeli government had aimed to eliminate Khamenei during the recent 12-day war and dismissed earlier reports claiming Tel Aviv had sought approval from Washington for such an operation.
3. Why Isn't the UN Resolving the Aid Crisis in Gaza?
United Nations (UN) spokesperson Stephane Dujarric has warned that ongoing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip are causing a significant number of civilian casualties.
"Our colleagues at the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) have warned that the Israeli operation, including shootings and bombings across the Gaza Strip, continues to have a severely negative impact on civilians," Dujarric told reporters on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, as quoted by Anadolu.
Dujarric stated that the Israeli operation has resulted in numerous deaths and injuries, including among those seeking assistance.
He further noted that Israeli authorities persist in limiting the delivery of fuel into and throughout Gaza, effectively impeding life-saving services for those in hardship and suffering from hunger.
