TEMPO.CO, Karanganyar - The Surakarta Class I TPI Immigration Office carried out Administrative Immigration Measures (TAK) by deporting 20 foreign nationals or Chinese nationals on Monday, July 14, 2025. The 20 Chinese nationals violated Article 122 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.
The head of the Surakarta Immigration Office, Bisri, stated that this TAK originated from community information regarding the presence of several foreign nationals who were working on a company project in Plumbon Village, Sambungmacan District, Sragen Regency, Central Java.
This information was immediately followed up by the Surakarta Immigration Office. There were a total of 21 foreign nationals arrested while working on the project.
"They were then examined and 20 foreign nationals, consisting of 19 men and one woman, who were suspected of violating immigration regulations, were detained. Meanwhile, one person was released as there was no indication of immigration violations," said Bisri during a press conference at the Surakarta Class I TPI Immigration Office, early Monday, July 14, 2025.
He explained that after an examination by the Surakarta Immigration Office, it was proven that the 20 foreign nationals had violated Article 122 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.
"After conducting in-depth examination and investigation, along with confessions from the foreign nationals, we concluded that there were violations of the Immigration Law under Article 122," he said.
The nature of the violations was that they had exceeded the residency permits in Sragen, with an average of more than 30 days and some exceeding 60 days. From these violations, Bisri stated that today, July 14, 2024, they imposed TAK in the form of deportation and barring from Indonesian territory through Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo, in accordance with Article 75 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.
Bisri reminded companies employing foreign workers or foreign nationals conducting activities in the former Surakarta Residency or Solo Raya area to comply with applicable regulations.
He also urged the public in Solo Raya to immediately report any suspicious activities of foreign nationals to the Surakarta Immigration Office.
The Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration for Central Java, Is Eko Edyputranto, stated that this action is a commitment of his staff to uphold immigration law in line with the instructions of the Minister of Immigration and Indonesian Correctional Affairs, Agus Andrianto.
"This supervision is important to ensure that the presence of foreign nationals does not pose a threat to the stability and laws in Indonesia," he said.
